Loving Vincent is an astonishing cinematic achievement—the world’s first fully hand-painted feature film. Every one of its 65,000 frames was meticulously created using the same oil painting techniques as Vincent van Gogh himself, brought to life by a team of more than one hundred artists.

Through its swirling, textured imagery, the film retraces the final days of Van Gogh’s life, blending biography and mystery into an elegy for art, madness, and beauty. Dorota Kobiela and Hugh Welchman’s direction pays homage to the painter’s vision while immersing viewers inside his canvases, transforming his world of color and emotion into living movement.
