Have a movie idea you’ve always wanted to bring to life? As we gear up for the 2026 North Bay Film Festival, we’re teaming up with the North Bay Screenwriters’ Group and Near North Makerspace for a FREE hands-on workshop exploring the first steps of turning your story into a screenplay.

Whether you’re an aspiring screenwriter or simply have an idea you’ve been wanting to develop, this workshop will help you build the foundation of your story. No previous screenwriting experience is required!

Participants will leave with:

• A clearer understanding of what their movie is really about
• A defined protagonist, goal, conflict, and stakes
• A basic story structure
• The foundation of a screenplay treatment
