Welcome to the Winners Page for the North Bay Film Festival’s second annual 48-Hour Film Challenge, held in 2024! This year, we were thrilled to have even more teams participate, making it a highly competitive event. The theme was horror, challenging filmmakers to push their creativity to thrilling new levels. The weekend kicked off with an in-person event at the Digital Creator Space, where teams dove into crafting their spooky tales. The top entries were screened at the festival, giving our audience the chance to vote for their favorite. Congratulations to our winning teams, and a huge thank you to all the participants who brought their passion and talent to this year’s competition!

Description: In a city gripped by fear, a serial killer stalks the shadows, his web of terror tightening with each victim. But his next target, a seemingly unsuspecting woman, is not the prey she appears to be.

Jason Manella
Jason Manella is an actor, writer, and director who has worked on numerous projects in both film and theatre, Having begun his career as an actor, he quickly expanded into the realm of production, working on projects such as Cardinal, Hard Rock Medical, and Nobel and the Kid. Holding degrees in both Theater and Digital Cinematography, Jason taught in Canadore College’s Digital Cinematography program for several years before shifting his focus back to film production.
Cindy Hinds
Cindy Hinds began her career in 1974. You will recognize her from being splashed across movie and television screens in the ’70s and ’80s, having starred in David Cronenberg’s The Brood as well as other horror features and many TV shows like Littlest Hobo, King of Kensington, and many more. In 2016, Cindy Began working with the Blood In The Snow Film Festival in Toronto and in 2024 joined the Bay of Blood International Film Festival.
Seb Godin
Having written for magazines like Delirium and directed nine micro-budget creatures-features like Lycanimator and Blood Rites of the Vampyr, Seb Godin is extremely active in the independent film community. An alumni of Canadore College’s Digital Cinematography program, they are also a founder of the Bay of Blood International Film Festival and have served on the festival board for the last 3 years.
